PESR is Having State Roads Leading to Rural Areas Repaired and Renewed

One such road currently undergoing rehabilitation is the regional road R2337, on the section connecting to R1305 (Kičevo–Demir Hisar) toward Cer. The carriageway is being repaired by laying a new asphalt layer over a length of 5,100 meters and a width of 4 meters. The estimated value of the works is 30 million denars.

Additionally, construction activities are underway involving earthworks (clearing and leveling the route and digging drainage channels) for the rehabilitation of the section from Cer to Pusta Reka, which currently has an unpaved surface. The goal is to establish a connection to Kruševo.

The works are being performed by the Public Enterprise “Makedonijapat” and are part of the PESR’s 2025 State Roads Maintenance Program, which includes planned construction activities on state roads leading to rural areas with old and damaged road surfaces.

PESR is opening the construction season at Local Self-Government Units, i.e. Municipalities

The Public Enterprise for State Roads is focused not only on state and national roads, but also on intensive works for rehabilitation of the regional roads running through rural areas of municipalities.

For that purpose, as part of the PESR’s 2025 Annual Program, more precisely under the Contract with the PE for Maintenance and Protection of Main and Regional Roads (Makedonijapat), funds are also allocated for rehabilitation of regional roads at the local self-government units, i.e. municipalities.

The Program for this year includes allocation of 85 million denars for rehabilitation of several road sections in Kumanovo, specifically for the following roads:

1. R29277 Beljakovce-Klechovce – 35 million denars,
2. R2136 Pchinja-Vak’v – 30 million denars,
3. R1104 Kumanovo transit (Nikola Tesla Street) – 20 million denars.

Construction activities have already begun on some of these road sections, more precisely on Beljakovce-Klechovce and on Nikola Tesla Street.

The works on Nikola Tesla Street, which represents a transit route on the regional road from Kumanovo to the border with Serbia, include plans for removal of the old asphalt and putting a new asphalt layer in total length of 1,450 meters, with a variable width of 6.5 to 9 meters, i.e. about 10,000 square meters.

The PESR plans, after the works on the above stated two sections are completed, to proceed with the rehabilitation of the road from v. Pchinja to v. Vak’v. These construction works are performed by the PE for Maintenance and Protection of Main and Regional Roads (Makedonijapat).
