For the purpose of finding the most economically acceptable, efficient, and at the same time safest solution for the completion of the Brvenica road interchange, the Director of the Public Enterprise for State Roads, Koce Trajanovski, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Brvenica, Jovica Ilievski, together with their expert teams from PESR and the Municipality of Brvenica, conducted a field visit.
The Brvenica road interchange is part of the road network of State Road A2 on the Skopje–Tetovo–Gostivar section. On the northern side of the motorway, part of the interchange has already been constructed, enabling exit from Skopje toward Brvenica and entry from Brvenica toward Gostivar.
To complete the Brvenica interchange, a project design is planned for the southern side, that will provide for an exit from Gostivar toward Brvenica and an entry from Brvenica toward Skopje.
In this way, a decades-long problem in the region concerning the connection of Brvenica and the surrounding settlements with the existing A2 motorway toward Skopje will be resolved. The new connection will also help reduce traffic congestion in the region and nearby settlements, thereby improving the living conditions of residents and enhancing traffic safety and flow.
