The Public Enterprise for State Roads is continuing the implementation of the project for lighting interchanges on state roads this year, which aim is to improve the services and especially the safety for all road users.
The works on lighting 12 interchanges and crossroads on regional roads, supported by the World Bank, have started and are expected to be completed by mid-September this year. The twelve interchanges are: Orizari, Istibanja, Udovo, Aasamati, Ljubojno, Makedonski Brod, Pelince, Vinica, Lakavica, Rosoman, and Karposh-Kumanovo. The total length of illuminated sections on these twelve interchanges shall equal 10,200 meters, and will involve installation of 255 single-arm and double-arm lamp posts. The whole investment shall be 36 million denars worth.
Director of the PE for State Roads, Mr. Aleksandar Stojanov, today went to check the progress of works at Karposh-Kumanovo interchange on the regional road Kumanovo – Sveti Nikole, and at Pelince interchange on Kumanovo – Pelince section. At Karposh interchange currently installation of lamp posts is underway, while at Pelince interchange concrete works are underway on foundations for the lampposts, upon which they will be placed.
In addition, works have already started at the interchanges Asamati, Ljubojno and Suvodol-Makedonski Brod, and activities are also planned to begin soon at the interchanges Orizari, Istibanja, and at the entrance to the town of Vinica.
