In order to significantly improve traffic safety and improve the services for residents gravitating toward the municipality of Struga, the Public Enterprise for State Roads (PESR) has allocated 20 million denars – from its program for state roads maintenance and protection – for the rehabilitation of regional road R2243. This road section represents a key link for the local population, as it passes through several settlements and is of great importance for citizens’ daily travel, supply of goods, and the development of tourism in the region.
The planned funds will be used for the complete rehabilitation of the section stretching from the village of Dolno Tateshi to Mislodezhda, with a total length of 3,500 meters. The project foresees interventions aimed at improving the infrastructure and enabling safer and more efficient vehicle movement.
The construction activities, carried out by the Public Enterprise Makedonijapat, include widening the carriageway from the current 3.8 meters to 5 meters, which will allow for easier passing of vehicles and reduce the risk of traffic accidents. For the needs of the project, the plan includes excavation of 3,000 cubic meters of earth material, installation of 900 cubic meters of base layer for stabilization and paving with a total of 1,200 tons of asphalt.
With the realization of this investment, the quality of the road network will be improved, access to rural settlements will be facilitated, while at the same time encouraging economic development and improving the living conditions of the local population. Additionally, the improved infrastructure will enable faster and safer communication both at the local and regional level.
